Foreclosure Prevention Services

The Foreclosure Prevention Program helps homeowners who are in danger of losing their homes due to an approaching foreclosure. The program provides counseling, advocacy, referrals to additional resources and other assistance to families facing foreclosure.

If you are having trouble making your mortgage payments, we can provide:

• Early delinquency intervention and counseling

• Budget counseling

• Lender negotiations on your behalf

• Answers to your foreclosure questions

• Pre-foreclosure sale information

• Financial assistance to eligible households
  

In order to participate in the Foreclosure Prevention Program you must:

• Own and occupy a home located in suburban Hennepin County
  
• Be behind or in imminent danger of falling behind on mortgage or contract for deed payments
  
• Be willing to work with our experienced Foreclosure Prevention Specialists to help resolve the problem


• Find solutions to other household issues that prohibit making mortgage payments


• Participate in financial counseling and show the ability to take on future financial obligations


• Cooperate by providing requested information and documentation in a timely manner
